Clothing Care Guide
Proper care extends the life of your Pakistani branded clothing. Follow these fabric-specific instructions to keep lawn, chiffon, silk, velvet, and khaddar pieces looking new.
Universal Care Tips
Always check the care label inside each garment before washing.
Separate dark and light colors for the first few washes to prevent bleeding.
Use cold water for all Pakistani fabrics — hot water can shrink or damage fibers.
Never wring embellished, embroidered, or delicate fabrics.
Store formal pieces in breathable garment bags away from direct sunlight.
Steam is safer than ironing for embellished, velvet, and organza fabrics.
Printed Lawn
Hand wash or machine wash on delicate cycle with cold water.
Use mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners on printed areas.
Do not soak for more than 10 minutes to prevent color bleeding.
Dry in shade — direct sunlight can fade printed lawn.
Iron on medium heat. Use a pressing cloth over embroidered areas.
Store folded in a cool, dry place. Avoid plastic bags for long-term storage.
Embroidered Lawn
Hand wash gently with cold water and mild detergent.
Do not scrub embroidered areas — press and squeeze gently.
Rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent.
Lay flat to dry in shade. Never wring embroidered fabric.
Iron on the reverse side with a pressing cloth over embroidery.
Store folded with tissue paper between embroidered layers to prevent snagging.
Chiffon & Organza
Dry clean is strongly recommended for all chiffon and organza pieces.
If hand washing unembellished chiffon: cold water, mild detergent, no rubbing.
Do not wring — gently squeeze excess water and lay flat to dry.
Iron on lowest heat setting. Use a pressing cloth.
For organza: steam from a distance to remove creases without crushing the fabric.
Store hanging or rolled — never crease organza or chiffon dupattas.
Silk
Dry clean only. Silk loses sheen and strength when washed with water.
If a label says hand wash: cold water, silk-specific detergent, no soaking.
Do not wring or twist silk fabric.
Iron on silk/low setting while slightly damp, inside out.
Store in a breathable cotton garment bag. Avoid plastic.
Keep away from direct sunlight — silk fades over time.
Velvet
Dry clean only. Velvet pile can be permanently damaged by water.
Hang velvet garments on padded hangers to maintain shape.
Use a steamer to refresh velvet — never iron directly.
If crushed pile: hang in a steamy bathroom to restore the pile.
Store away from direct light and heat sources.
Do not fold velvet for long storage — crease marks are hard to remove.
Khaddar
Hand wash with cold water and mild detergent. Machine wash on delicate if preferred.
Khaddar may shrink slightly on first wash — this is normal.
Dry in shade. Fold and press to maintain shape while drying.
Iron while slightly damp on medium heat for best results.
Store folded. Khaddar is durable but benefits from breathable storage.
Avoid hanging heavy khaddar pieces — they may stretch over time.
